Fireman's Delight
Visit the fireman's museum and see old leather water buckets from 1827 and fire-fighting equipment from days gone by such as a horse drawn fire engine made of wood. A fire station switchboard from 1911 is on display and is still working. There is also the chance to sit in an air-raid shelter and listen to the siren.
A point of interest is an interesting display of burnt objects found in fires such as a television, clock, keyboard and other items. As part of their job, the firemen are often called out to assist in car crash accidents. The display of a crashed car with injured occupants portrays the work the firefighters are called upon to do.
